Kawasaki has launched the BS6-compliant Ninja 650 in India at Rs 6,24,000 (ex-showroom). That’s a premium of Rs 35,000 over the BS4 model. It’s available in two new liveries: Lime Green and Pearl White. Aside from the greener motor, for the extra asking price, you get a new look, some new features and better tyres.

Kawasaki Ninja 650 Spacifications

Kawasaki has made minor modifications to the 649cc parallel-twin motor to make it BS6-compliant. Though there is no loss of performance after the BS6 updates, the motor still pumps out 68PS and 65.7Nm. The 6-speed transmission also sees no changes. There are no rider electronic aids to speak of on the Ninja 650 aside from the mandatory ABS. The 2020 Ninja 650 makes use of the same underpinnings as its predecessor. You get the same trellis frame, gullwing swingarm, telescopic fork and preload-adjustable monoshock from the older bike. Even braking hardware has been carried over on to the new bike with anchorage provided by a twin disc setup on the front wheel. The exciting bit remains the new tyres. Kawasaki has ditched the old touring oriented Dunlop Sportmax D214s for grippier Dunlop Sportmax Roadsport 2 rubber.

Kawasaki Ninja 650 Features

On the 2020 Kawasaki Ninja 650, you will find a brand new 4.3-inch colour TFT display. This unit replaces the dull and old negative LCD display panel. This new dash gets Bluetooth connectivity and GPS functionality. You can connect your smartphone to the unit and control your music via means of switches on the left side. All lighting bits on the new Ninja 650 are LED. Dual-channel ABS is standard.
