BMW has launched the F 900 R and F 900 XR in India. The bikes will come to India via the CBU route but have been priced very competitively. Know prices and more details.
The BMW F 900 R is a sports naked that competes with the likes of the KTM 790 Duke, Ducati Monster 821, Triumph Street Triple RS and Kawasaki Z900. It is available in Std and Pro variant overseas but will come in only Std variant in India. The new motorcycle gets a conventional fuel tank unlike its F 899 R predecessor which had an underseat fuel tank. This allows for the tail section to be slimmer and make the seat more accessible.
Features include LED headlamp, LED turn indicators and dynamic LED tail lamps. It gets a 6.5-inch colour TFT instrument console with Bluetooth connectivity and a Datatool STEALTH S5 geofencing based anti-theft device.
The BMW F 900 R gets a 895cc liquid-cooled parallel-twin motor that delivers 105PS and 92Nm. Electronics include traction control, two riding modes -- Road and Rain and dual-channel ABS.
Underpinnings include a bridge-type frame, 43mm upside-down forks and a preload and damping adjustable monoshock. It gets 17-inch alloy wheels with twin 320mm discs with radial Brembo calipers and a 265mm rear disc. The F 900 R has a kerb weight of 211kg, an 815mm tall seat and a 13-litre fuel tank.
