Bajaj Dominar 250 Latest Updates

Bajaj has launched the much-awaited Dominar 250 in India at Rs 1.60 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). It undercuts the Dominar 400 by Rs 30,000, making it the more affordable option. Bajaj dealers have started accepting bookings for as little as Rs 500.

The Bajaj Dominar 250 sports similar styling to the Bajaj Dominar 400 and carries over many of the features and cycle parts too. It gets the same LED lighting, a twin-barrel exhaust, perimeter frame and bungee straps tucked under the seat.

The KTM 250 Duke-sourced engine has been reworked to produce 27PS power at 8500rpm and 23.5Nm of peak torque at 6500rpm. The motor comes mated to a 6-speed transmission aided by a slipper clutch. Fuel tank capacity remains unchanged at 13-litres.

There are changes in hardware as well. The quarter-litre Dominar uses a 37mm USD fork compared to the 43mm unit on its elder sibling. It retains the same rear monoshock. It uses a smaller 300mm disc up front and the same 230mm disc at the rear. The swingarm is now a box-section unit. The tyres are also slightly slimmer than the Dominar 400 -- 100-section front and 130-section rear radials.
